TallStreet - Like Wall Street, but not
At first I thought TallStreet was cool, but then I started using it. I think the idea is neat, but it takes a lot of work, and you only get 1,000 TallStreet dollars a day to invest. It is a “…Social Recommendations Engine that lets you find those passionate little guys.” Huh? What?
Too much work to find the little guys when you can get it for the same price at Amazon or Gifts.com.
There are cool features such as the tag clouds in the search results, the 5-star rating scale, and then acting like you are spending someone else’s money. All neat, but a lot of work. Maybe if it was part of a large engine or a piece of a social site such as MySpace or FaceBook where people like to rate things and judge others.
When I search, I want speed and relevance (still looking for relevance), not more work.
Can you see the theme? Less work, more relevance.

I like the whole concept, lets think about it for a second. It doesnt take alot of work for the user who doesnt wanna do anything. The people that want to help can help whenever they like. The people that just want to browse can do that with the help of of the people that have contributed. So lazy or not, it works for both parties. all it needs is a large amount of traffic and it will get going.
